Police Apprehend Suspect for Indecent Behavior Near Pittsburg Daycare

On Thursday afternoon, February 15, 2024, at around 3:30 PM, Pittsburg Police Department officers responded to a distressing report from staff at a daycare facility on E. 13th St. in Pittsburg. The staff had observed a male individual engaging in lewd behavior across the street, openly masturbating.
The police department’s dispatch center received multiple calls regarding the suspect’s actions, which allowed officers to track him to the vicinity of 10th and Rouse St. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers identified the suspect as 18-year-old Walter Lalimo, a resident of Pittsburg.
Mr. Lalimo attempted to evade the officers by fleeing on foot, leading to a brief pursuit before he was apprehended without further resistance. He was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child and Felony Interference with Law Enforcement. Mr. Lalimo was then taken to the Crawford County Sheriff’s office for booking and is currently being held in custody without bail.
