Woman and Child Found in Bedford
The search for a missing Russell County woman and her one-year-old child came to an end in the Town of Bedford on Feb. 16, according to the Bedford Police Department. Adrian Woodruff, 31, of Castlewood, had been wanted by police since Feb. 5 when she disappeared with her child.
Search Intensifies in Bedford
Authorities from the Russell County Sheriff’s Office reached out to Bedford Police on Feb. 15 after receiving information that Woodruff and her child might be in the Bedford area with a male companion. The search intensified in the town as law enforcement agencies worked together to locate the missing duo.
Safe Discovery in Bedford
Thankfully, on Feb. 16, Woodruff and her child were found safe in Bedford. However, the joy of their safe discovery was short-lived as Woodruff was immediately arrested on an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle. She is currently being held in jail without bond.
Arrest of Male Companion
The male companion, identified as 42-year-old John Phillips of Castlewood, was also taken into custody. Phillips had an outstanding warrant from Smyth County issued in April 2022 for failure to appear. Additionally, he faces charges of providing false information to a Bedford officer. Like Woodruff, Phillips is being held in jail without bond.
