SLEX employee allegedly shot dead by security guards in Calamba

LAGUNA, Philippines — A tragic incident unfolded in Barangay Batino, Calamba, as an employee of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) was reportedly shot dead by two security guards following a heated altercation on Saturday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Ronald Santilla, was with his companion Robert when the incident occurred near the administration building of the Calamba Premiere International Park (CPIP). The altercation was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.

According to reports, the two guards, known only as alias Demetrio and Al Jun from the Hunter Security Agency, approached the Santilla brothers and asked them to leave the area. A disagreement ensued, leading to a violent confrontation.

Surveillance footage from a closed-circuit television camera revealed that Demetrio left the scene momentarily and returned with a firearm. The video footage captured the moment when the guard allegedly fired multiple shots at Ronald, resulting in his tragic demise at the scene. The suspect fled the scene, but Al Jun was apprehended by responding law enforcement officers.

Authorities have disclosed that the suspect has expressed intentions to surrender, as investigations into the incident continue. The community has been left in shock and mourning over the senseless loss of life in this tragic event.
