Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Investigates Two Separate Shootings

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred early on Sunday morning.

First Shooting Incident

At around 1 a.m., a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer was stationed at the Eastside Terrace apartments when a man approached him, claiming he had been shot. The victim, a man in his late 40s, had sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder. The injured individual, who is not a resident of Jacksonville, was unable to provide details about the incident to the police. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Second Shooting Incident

Approximately an hour later, at 1:55 a.m., JSO received a report of another shooting victim who had driven themselves to a nearby hospital. The second victim, a man in his 30s, had suffered gunshot wounds to his hip and back, which were determined to be non-life-threatening. Authorities are actively searching for the location where the shooting took place.
