Accident – Death – Obituary News : Kanpur: A group of six individuals involved in a sophisticated scheme to manipulate the state police constable recruitment exam were apprehended in a coordinated operation by Kanpur Commissionerate police and the Special Task Force’s Lucknow Unit and Kanpur Unit. The arrests took place in two separate incidents on Saturday, revealing a well-organized attempt to rig the recruitment process.

Inspector Dhananjay Kumar Pandey of the Kalyanpur area shared that the seized items included five mobile phones, four Aadhar cards, two driving licenses, two voter cards, four PAN cards, two ATM cards, cash amounting to Rs 24,000, two four-wheelers, a microphone electronic device, a fake seal, four admit cards, six cheques from various banks, and 14 educational certificates. The accused individuals were identified as Ajay Atirek Katiyar, Anil Katiyar, Veerpal Singh, and Neeraj Kumar, hailing from different areas in Kanpur Dehat.

In a parallel operation, the STF’s Kanpur Unit intercepted two suspects attempting to leak the constable recruitment exam question paper and offering to secure passing grades for a fee in the Hanumant Vihar police station area on Friday night. Both suspects, identified as Nitin Singh Tomar and Sarthak Singh Yadav, were local residents. The STF had received intelligence suggesting that individuals from Naubasta and Hanumant Vihar were extorting money from candidates in exchange for leaked exam papers and assistance in passing the exam through fraudulent means.

Following the tip-off, the STF apprehended the suspects near Kushwaha Tent House in Yogendra Vihar, recovering photocopies of admit cards belonging to 42 candidates. The suspects were handed over to the Hanumant Vihar police station and subsequently presented in court on Saturday before being remanded to judicial custody. An official involved in the investigation hinted at a third accomplice, Hansraj Yadav, whose capture is imminent.

The recent crackdown on exam fraud comes on the heels of other notable law enforcement successes in the region. In Mahoba, two wanted criminals involved in a robbery and murder case were arrested after sustaining injuries in a police encounter. The recovery of stolen goods near the Panwadi police station area marked a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.

In a separate incident, the UP Special Task Force detained Monu Gurjar and Rajnish Ranjan in Jhansi for their involvement in manipulating a police constable examination. The suspects were found in possession of admit card photocopies belonging to 10 aspirants suspected of collusion, with two SUVs seized during the operation.

These recent developments underscore the authorities’ commitment to upholding the integrity of recruitment processes and ensuring public safety in the face of organized crime.
