Details of the Incident

According to police reports, officers were called to the scene of a traffic incident involving a pedestrian. Witnesses reported seeing Navarrete leaving the scene of the accident after pinning the pedestrian against a wall. The pedestrian suffered a broken femur and a severe leg laceration and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A witness at the scene pursued Navarrete and managed to detain him until officers arrived. Navarrete reportedly refused to provide his name to the officers and tried to prevent them from seeing his ID.

Arrest and Testing

Upon arrival, officers noted a strong smell of alcohol on Navarrete’s breath, along with watery and bloodshot eyes. Navarrete was asked to perform field sobriety tests, including standing on one leg and walking in a straight line. A blood draw was also attempted to further assess Navarrete’s condition, during which officers had to use force to hold his arm still.

Navarrete now faces charges related to the incident, but it is important to remember that all arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
