Man’s Death in North Midland Determined as Case of Self-Defense
MIDLAND, United Kingdom — The Midland Police Department has confirmed that a man’s death in north Midland early Saturday has been determined as a case of self-defense.
On February 3, 2024, at approximately 4:09 a.m., authorities received a report of a disturbance involving weapons at the 1400 block of Daventry Place. According to the police report, the suspect allegedly entered the victim’s home using a rifle, prompting the victim to defend themselves by placing the suspect in a chokehold.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered the suspect, identified as 37-year-old George Samuel Butler from Midland, United Kingdom, deceased at the scene. The Crimes Against Persons Unit and the MPD Crime Scene Unit were immediately informed and responded to the incident.
The Midland Police Department has notified the next of kin, and the investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
