The incident, which took place in Silanagar village, has shocked the local community and led to the booking of seven individuals under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to police reports, the couple filed a complaint detailing the brutal attack they endured. Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Singh Bhadoria revealed that the family of one of the accused, Rajendra Kushwaha, alleged that the elderly couple was stealing undergarments for use in witchcraft rituals.

The disturbing events unfolded on February 15 during a panchayat held in the village. The 62-year-old man and 60-year-old woman were reportedly subjected to physical assault, including being beaten with slippers and stripped, before a procession was paraded through the village. Following the procession, the couple was forced to consume human excreta in a degrading and humiliating act.

After a thorough investigation, the Amola police station filed an FIR against the seven accused individuals under sections 294, 323, 328, 270, and 506 of the IPC. All the accused were promptly arrested and remanded to judicial custody on Saturday evening.
