Accident – Death – Obituary News : Police in Colorado Springs have identified the victims of a tragic shooting incident at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs as 26-year-old Celie Rain Montgomery of Pueblo and 24-year-old Samuel Knopp of Parker. Celie Rain Montgomery was not enrolled at the university, while Samuel Knopp was a registered student at UCCS. The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that the shootings, which occurred on Friday morning, are being investigated as homicides.

The authorities were alerted to the incident when they received a report of a shooting at around 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless bodies of Celie Rain Montgomery and Samuel Knopp, both of whom had suffered gunshot wounds. The coroner’s office will determine the exact cause of death for each victim, but it has been confirmed that they were both shot at least once.

Following the discovery of the victims, the university campus was placed on lockdown for approximately 90 minutes before the lockdown was confined to a student apartment complex. In addition, as a precautionary measure, Colorado Springs Christian School was also placed on lockdown in response to the reports of gunfire on the college campus.

While the police have not yet identified any suspects in connection with the homicides, they have assured the public that the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the safety of the community. In a news release, the authorities stated, “Investigative efforts so far continue to indicate this is an isolated incident between parties that were known to one another and not a random attack against the school or other students at the university.”
