Throughout the course of this investigation, our primary focus has been on seeking justice for the victims and their families in the wake of this tragic event. The investigation remains active, with our detectives diligently pursuing additional leads and gathering suspect information. At this juncture, we are refraining from disclosing specific details about the leads and potential suspects in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation.

The evidence gathered thus far indicates that this incident was isolated and involved individuals who were acquainted with each other, rather than constituting a random attack against the university or its students. Our detectives are working tirelessly, and we have chosen to limit the dissemination of information to the public during the initial 48-hour period of the investigation.

We have maintained open lines of communication with the victims’ families and have collaborated closely with the UCCS Police Department to ensure the safety of the campus community. The families have requested privacy during this challenging time to grieve the loss of their loved ones, and we urge the public to respect their wishes and refrain from reaching out to them.
