The accused, under the influence of alcohol at the time, threatened to explode the airport over the phone. This prompted authorities to follow strict safety protocols to ensure the protection of passengers. After a thorough search, the bomb threat was determined to be a hoax.

Police Investigation

Multiple investigative teams were formed to crack the case. DCP (IGIA) Usha Rangnani disclosed that the caller’s mobile number was initially unreachable. Through technical surveillance, officers traced the number back to Mahto. Raids in his village and subsequent searches in Delhi led to his arrest.

Accused’s Confession

Upon interrogation, Mahto confessed to making the call while in an inebriated state. He admitted to dropping out of school after Class V. The accused’s family members revealed that he worked as a labourer and had been missing since the day of the incident.

Conclusion

The arrest of Krishno Mahto serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of making hoax bomb threats. The authorities’ swift action and thorough investigation demonstrate their commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the public at airports.
