Two Arrested in Indore for Robbing Woman of Gold Chain

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two individuals from Dhar district have been apprehended for the theft of a gold chain from a woman in the Chandan Nagar area. In a dramatic turn of events, one of the suspects attempted to evade capture by jumping into a river, only to be pursued and apprehended by a courageous police officer.

The incident took place on February 13 when a woman named Girija Jhanwar was accosted by two motorcyclists in the Gumasta Nagar area while en route to visit a relative. Despite her cries for help, the culprits managed to escape the scene. Law enforcement authorities swiftly reviewed CCTV footage from the area and surrounding locations, which eventually led to a breakthrough in the case.

Acting on a tip-off regarding the whereabouts of the suspects, the police were able to locate and track them down. Upon sighting the officers, one of the culprits attempted to flee on foot, while the other made a desperate attempt to escape by leaping into a nearby river. Undeterred, a brave policeman followed suit, plunging into the water and successfully apprehending the suspect.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ajay Rathore from Dhamnod and Arbaza Mansuri from Khalghat in Dhar district. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to not only robbing the woman in Chandan Nagar but also admitted to similar crimes in the Aerodrome area and Khargone. Authorities are currently probing the duo for their involvement in other criminal activities.
