Bellingham police issued an alert Saturday for a Rhode Island man, who should be considered armed and dangerous, and is wanted for an alleged armed robbery last weekend, officials said.
Agapito Davila, 41, of Woonsocket, is known to frequent Lowell and may be driving a black Honda Civic with no front license plate, police said.
Authorities are urging the public not to approach Davila and to contact local law enforcement immediately, according to the statement.
Bellingham police secured an arrest warrant for Davila after identifying him as a suspect in an armed robbery at a local convenience store on February 10, as per the department’s announcement.
On the day of the robbery, a Bellingham police officer noticed suspicious activity outside an unnamed convenience store. The officer observed a man fleeing to a vehicle, which was later discovered to be stolen upon running a registration check, police reported.
As the officer attempted to stop the car, the driver accelerated away. Simultaneously, a 911 call was received reporting an armed robbery at the same convenience store, according to authorities.
A pursuit ensued through Blackstone and Woonsocket, but the driver, later identified as Davila, abandoned the vehicle and fled, police disclosed.
Individuals with information on Davila’s whereabouts are urged to contact Bellingham police at 508-966-1515.
