Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 32-year-old individual was apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Pune for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh on behalf of the Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) of the Dehu Road division. The suspect, identified as Omkar Bharat Jadhav, works as a driver by profession.

The incident unfolded when a complaint was lodged regarding a land fraud case on the Katraj-Kondhwa bypass Road. The inquiry into this matter was under the jurisdiction of ACP Mugutlal Patil from the Dehu Road division. Allegations were made that ACP Patil demanded a sum of ₹5 lakh to prevent further police actions in the case. Jadhav was reportedly acting as the intermediary in this corrupt transaction.

Following an initial investigation conducted between February 15 and 17, the ACB team confirmed that ACP Patil had indeed solicited ₹5 lakh from the complainant, with an initial agreement of ₹1 lakh as the first payment. Subsequently, the ACB set up a trap at the parking area of a private hospital and arrested Jadhav on Saturday.

The accused has been charged under sections 7 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the case has been registered at the Koregaon Park Police Station. The investigation into this bribery case is ongoing to uncover any additional parties involved in this illicit activity.
