A young man, identified as Soumya Ranjan Nayak, is currently receiving medical care at a hospital in Cuttack, where his condition is said to be critical.

Angul : The prevalence of online gaming addiction in India’s digital era has become a growing concern. As multiplayer games and virtual communities continue to gain popularity, individuals often find themselves spending excessive amounts of time engrossed in virtual realms. Tragically, this addiction has, in some cases, led to fatal outcomes.
In a recent incident in Odisha’s Angul district, a 24-year-old man took drastic measures by slashing his own throat with a blade after facing defeat in a mobile phone game three times in a row.
Soumya Ranjan Nayak, the individual in question, is currently being treated at a hospital in Cuttack, where his condition is described as critical.
The distressing event took place on a Saturday in Jereng village, as reported by local authorities.
Following the incident, Soumya’s parents promptly rushed him to the district’s government hospital, from where he was subsequently transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for further medical attention.
