As the investigation progressed, detectives discovered a vehicle belonging to Minjarez in a scrap yard. On February 6, a search warrant was executed on the vehicle, revealing a suitcase containing the remains of Dominguez Jr.

Following these developments, arrest warrants were obtained on February 15 for Minjarez and Jesus Dominguez. The charges against them include two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse. Additionally, Jesus Dominguez faces an additional charge of theft of government benefits. Minjarez has been arrested and is currently held at the Pueblo County Jail on a $2 million bond.
