Upon arrival, officers stumbled upon a metal container filled with concrete, which immediately raised suspicions. Further investigation led them to uncover the remains of a young girl, later identified as Yesenia Dominguez, inside the container on January 22. Yesenia, along with her brother Jesus Dominguez Jr., had been reported missing since the summer of 2018. At the time, Yesenia was three years old, while Jesus was five.

The case took a significant turn on January 31 when the police interviewed Jesus Dominguez, 35, and Corena Rose Minjarez, 36. On February 6, a search warrant was executed on the vehicle, revealing a suitcase containing the remains of Dominguez Jr.

Following these developments, arrest warrants were obtained on February 15 for Minjarez and Jesus Dominguez. The charges against them include two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse. Additionally, Jesus Dominguez faces an additional charge of theft of government benefits.
