Eastern Cuyahoga County Resource Fair Set for March 2

The Eastern Cuyahoga County Resource Fair is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 2 at the Tri-C Eastern Campus Student Services Building, located at 4250 Richmond Road in Highland Hills.

This year marks the second edition of the fair hosted by Connecting for Kids in the east suburbs. Following the success of last year’s event, which saw over 300 attendees, the organisers have introduced a new sensory area where visitors can take a break if needed.

With recent legislative changes in Ohio requiring dyslexia screening for public school students in grades K-3, families with children at risk will find a wealth of resources at the fair, including reading tutors, academic support, and information on alternative schools.

Recognising the growing concerns around mental health, the fair will also offer a range of services for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and behavioural issues.

Moreover, as March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, the event aims to raise awareness of the support available for those facing attention issues, ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other developmental challenges.

According to the CDC, approximately 1 in 6 children aged 3-17 are affected by developmental disabilities.

This free fair will feature more than 65 local providers, including therapists, mental health professionals, funding sources, transition services, and adapted summer camps, catering to individuals aged 0-22 years old.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from various organisations, discuss services, and explore programme options.

Families who pre-register and attend the in-person event will be entered into a draw to win a £100 Amazon gift card. For those with limited time, a drive-up service will be available at the tent in front of the Tri-C Eastern Campus Student Services Building during fair hours, where grab & go bags of resources can be collected.

To view a complete list of participants and to register for either the in-person resource fair or to reserve a grab & go bag, please visit www.connectingforkids.org or call/text 440-570-5908.
