Singer Noa Kirel Mourns the Loss of Her Cousin in Terror Attack

The pain and heartbreak are relentless for singer Noa Kirel, who represented Israel in last year’s Eurovision Song Contest. In a heartfelt message, she expressed her sorrow over the tragic loss of her cousin, Reserve SFC Ori Yaish, who was murdered in a despicable attack. Noa Kirel stands with the Yaish family, remembering Ori as an Israeli hero whose memory will forever be a blessing.

The IDF confirmed that Yaish, a 27-year-old soldier from Modi’in, was the second victim in the attack that also claimed the life of Yeshiva student Yishai Gartner, 23, from Modi’in Illit. Additionally, four others were wounded, with one 16-year-old remaining in critical condition and two others in serious condition.

An IDF reservist at the scene engaged and eliminated the terrorist, identified as Fadi Jamjoum, a Palestinian resident from East Jerusalem’s Shuafat refugee camp. The brave civilian recounted his actions, stating, “I charged at him, first firing from a distance, then closing in on him. I advanced while shooting, then reached him and confirmed neutralization.”

The terrorist, driving a Mazda vehicle, arrived at the Re’em Masmiya Junction near Kiryat Malachi and opened fire on a crowd at a bus stop. Police investigators described the terrorist as resembling an “Islamic State member,” with a bushy beard and a white kufi cap.
