Patrick Pirtle; Piranjoli “Jessica” Pembleton

A Milwaukee man and woman face multiple felony charges following a vicious attack that left a woman critically injured on Friday, Feb. 2.

36-year-old Patrick Pirtle and 32-year-old Piranjoli “Jessica” Pembleton are accused of attempted homicide and other serious offenses. Pirtle is also implicated in a prior domestic violence incident involving the same victim.

Previous Domestic Incident on Jan. 25

Authorities were alerted to a hotel near Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport where a 32-year-old woman sought refuge near a freezer. Reports indicate the woman had a swollen, bloody lip, and her hotel room was in disarray with a broken door.

The victim informed police that her boyfriend, identified as Pirtle, had choked her until she lost consciousness and punched her in the face. She later escaped the room after Pirtle threatened her life, prompting her to seek help.

Subsequently, police were summoned to a fire station near 62nd and Burleigh where the same victim, from the hotel incident, was found with life-threatening stab wounds. She had sustained multiple stab wounds to her neck and other injuries across her body.

The victim’s face was significantly bruised, and she was unable to communicate with detectives immediately due to her critical condition.

Victim’s Account

During her hospitalization, the victim recounted being with Pirtle at a hotel on Feb. 1, where Pirtle’s ex-partner, identified as Pembleton, picked them up the next day. According to the victim, Pirtle assaulted her again at the hotel before Pembleton attacked her in the vehicle.

The victim alleged that Pembleton stabbed her in the throat with a screwdriver while in the car, followed by more attacks to her face and hand. Despite pleading to be taken to a hospital, the suspects allegedly refused and continued driving.

The victim, in a state of desperation, recalled arriving at the fire station but could not recollect the events leading up to that moment. She expressed fear that Pirtle and Pembleton intended to end her life without hesitation.

Suspects in Custody

Pirtle was apprehended at a residence near 39th and Clarke, where officers discovered a shotgun with a modified barrel and blood-stained shoes. Pembleton, upon arrest, denied harming the victim but acknowledged picking up Pirtle and the victim on the day of the incident.

Pirtle faces charges including attempted first-degree intentional homicide, reckless injury, false imprisonment, strangulation, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Pembleton is charged with attempted homicide, reckless injury, and false imprisonment.

Both defendants appeared in Milwaukee County court on Feb. 14, with Pirtle’s bond set at £100,000 and Pembleton’s at £75,000.
