The deceased have been identified as P Kameo, aged 23, hailing from Marthandam in Kanyakumari district, and S Gowtham, aged 21, a resident of Salem. On the other hand, the injured parties include Jagan, Sathiya Praveen, and Saran, who are currently receiving treatment at the Salem Government Hospital.

According to the police report, the group of five individuals was en route to Namakkal after visiting their friend Abhinav in Panamarathupatti. Unfortunately, Kameo, who was behind the wheel, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a stationary lorry positioned by the roadside. Prompt action by the Mallur police led to the swift transportation of all occupants to the hospital, but tragically, Kameo and Gowtham succumbed to their injuries on the way.
