Nebraska State Patrol officers responded to a crash involving Hadenfeldt’s black Chevy Silverado and a semi-truck near the Alda interchange around 10:30 a.m. on Friday. KSNB Local4 News reported that upon further investigation, authorities linked Hadenfeldt to the ongoing assault inquiry.

The Kearney Police Department (KPD) confirmed that Hadenfeldt sustained injuries in the accident and is currently receiving medical care at a Grand Island hospital. Upon his discharge, he will face felony charges, including first-degree assault, strangulation resulting in serious bodily harm, and burglary, all stemming from an incident reported earlier in the week.

Earlier in the week, KPD officers responded to a 911 call at a Kearney residence where they discovered a woman with assault-related injuries that required immediate medical attention. The woman was rushed to a local hospital, and investigators determined that Hadenfeldt had unlawfully entered the residence and assaulted her, leaving her unconscious with severe injuries. Two young children were also present during the incident.

A warrant for Hadenfeldt’s arrest was promptly issued by the Kearney Police Department, and authorities had been actively searching for him until his involvement in the Alda crash.
