Ludhiana Police Arrest Drug Peddler with Six Kilograms of Opium in Dehlon Area

Ludhiana: The Anti Narcotics Cell of Ludhiana Police made a significant arrest recently, apprehending a drug peddler and seizing six kilograms of opium from his possession in the Dehlon area. The accused, identified as 35-year-old Gurdeep Singh Gogi from Daulatpur Neenwa village in Moga district, was taken into custody following the operation.

According to the police, a checkpost was set up near a shrine in the Dehlon area based on a tip-off about the accused smuggling opium in a white car. The accused was promptly booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and arrested.

DCP Investigation Jaskiranjit Singh Teja stated that the police will seek the remand of the accused to further investigate the case and delve into any potential connections related to the drug trafficking network. The thorough probe aims to uncover both forward and backward linkages in the illegal drug trade.
