Following a recent surge in attacks and deaths of Indians and Indian-American students in the United States, the US government has strongly condemned the violence, emphasizing that there is no justification for such acts based on race, gender, religion, or any other factor.

The Biden administration, led by President Joe Biden, has been actively working to combat and prevent these attacks. During a press briefing on Thursday, John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council, expressed the administration’s commitment to thwarting and disrupting such violence.

Responding to concerns among parents about the safety of Indian students in the US, Kirby emphasized that such violence is unacceptable in the United States. The administration is actively collaborating with state and local authorities to take necessary measures and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The recent attacks on Indian students in the US have sparked concerns about their safety. On February 7, Vivek Taneja, a 41-year-old Indian-origin man from Alexandria, Virginia, tragically died after being assaulted in downtown Washington. The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying and locating the suspect involved in the attack.

In another incident on February 4, an Indian student named Syed Mazahir Ali was brutally attacked in Chicago. Videos circulating on social media showed Ali bleeding heavily as he described the horrific incident. The Indian Consulate in Chicago has been in touch with Ali and his wife in India to provide support.

Earlier this month, Shreyas Reddy, an Indian student studying at the Linder School of Business in Cincinnati, Ohio, was found dead under mysterious circumstances. The cause of his death is currently unknown.

On January 30, Neel Acharya, a student at Purdue University, was found dead after being missing for several days.

In a separate incident, Vivek Saini, another Indian student, was brutally killed by a homeless man wielding a hammer inside a store in Lithonia, Georgia. A video of the incident went viral on social media.

These incidents have raised concerns among Indian students and their parents, highlighting the need for increased safety measures and vigilance.
