Once the suspect was discovered to be barricaded inside the residence, the lockdowns were lifted, allowing students to safely return home. The Glendale Police Department then called in SWAT officers and a crisis negotiation team to make contact with the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Vahan Keshishyan from La Crescenta.

Following several hours of negotiations, Keshishyan surrendered. However, when investigators entered the home, they tragically found that the victim had succumbed to their injuries and passed away at the scene, as confirmed by the Police Department.

As of now, the identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of the family. Keshishyan has been taken into custody and booked on suspicion of murder. The Police Department has stated that no further suspects are being pursued in connection with this case.

The nature of the relationship between Keshishyan and the victim is still under investigation.
