Toronto Police Arrest Two Suspects and Seek Third in Weston Neighbourhood Homicide

Toronto police have apprehended two individuals and are currently in pursuit of a third suspect following a fatal altercation within an apartment building in the Weston neighbourhood over the weekend.

Authorities promptly responded to a distress call reporting an assault near the intersection of Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West at approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with severe injuries, tragically succumbing to them at the scene, as confirmed by law enforcement.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Edwin John Redmond of Toronto, has become the sixth homicide fatality in the city this year.

In a significant development, the police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the crime. The individuals in custody are 27-year-old Zakkaria Wardere and 49-year-old Ninos Khoshaba, both of whom have been charged with second-degree murder. It is important to note that these charges have not yet been proven in court.

While progress has been made in the investigation, authorities are actively seeking a third suspect, identified as 42-year-old Liban Mohamud. A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Mohamud’s arrest on charges of second-degree murder.
