San Mateo Police Department has notified the next of kin and released the identities of the victims. The deceased have been identified as Anand Henry (father), Alice Benziger (mother), and their minor twin boys. The adults’ identities have been confirmed through fingerprints, while the boys have been identified through familial visual identification, according to authorities.

Investigators have determined that both Anand Henry and Alice Benziger succumbed to gunshot wounds, with Anand Henry identified as the suspect in this tragic incident.

San Mateo police responded to a welfare check call at the residence on Monday. Entry was gained by breaking a window, and upon entering, they discovered the lifeless bodies of the four individuals.

“A 9mm handgun legally registered to Henry was located on the bathroom floor where both adults’ bodies were found. Our investigation indicates that Benziger suffered from multiple gunshot wounds, while Henry had a single gunshot wound. The cause of death for the minor boys is pending pathology, but it has been confirmed that they did not die from gunshot wounds or show signs of physical trauma,” stated the San Mateo Police Department in an official statement.

The residence where the tragedy unfolded has no previous history of violence, and at this time, no motive has been uncovered, according to the police.

“While we cannot undo this horrific incident, our investigation into the motive for this tragedy continues. We would like to remind our community that resources for domestic violence and mental health support are available. It is important to seek help and assistance, as tragedies like this can be prevented,” emphasized the San Mateo Police Department.
