According to the police, a half-inch pipe was connected to the pipeline and laid through the tunnel to a nearby petrol pump. The crude oil theft was discovered during a survey by IOC officials to address a pipeline fault near Raipur on the Pali-Jaipur highway.

The discovery of the tunnel shocked the officials and led to the immediate halt of excavation work. When officials resumed excavation the next morning, they found a valve connected to a nearby petrol pump’s tank. The incident was reported to the police, resulting in the arrest of the petrol pump manager, Pradeep Mali. The search for the petrol pump owner is currently ongoing.

An IOC official revealed that a valve was mounted on the main pipeline, and a half-inch pipeline was laid to the petrol pump’s tank through a 4-foot wide and 100-foot long tunnel dug 10 feet below the ground. The official also stated that the extent of the crude oil theft and the duration of the illegal activity are yet to be determined.

The petrol pump in question, belonging to HPCL, is located just 100 meters before the police station. It had remained closed for many years until it was allocated to Rajendra Jain from Barmer three months ago. Jain then rented it out to Akash Jain and Sohanlal Vishnoi. The police suspect that the accused individuals rented the pump with the intention of stealing and selling crude oil from the IOC pipeline. They believe that the stolen oil was being supplied in tankers.

Authorities in Jodhpur have recently uncovered a 100-foot tunnel that was being used for stealing crude oil from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) pipeline. The investigation into this incident has been handed over to the special operations group of the police. The discovery of this tunnel has shocked officials and raised concerns about the security of the IOC pipeline.

The theft was discovered during a routine survey conducted by IOC officials to address a pipeline fault near Raipur on the Pali-Jaipur highway. While conducting the survey, officials noticed a half-inch pipe connected to the pipeline and laid through the tunnel to a nearby petrol pump. This raised suspicions and led to further investigation.

Upon closer inspection, officials found that the tunnel was approximately 100 feet long and had been dug 10 feet below the ground. The thieves had gone to great lengths to carry out this illegal activity. A valve was mounted on the main pipeline, and a half-inch pipeline was connected to the valve, leading to the tank of the petrol pump. This allowed the stolen crude oil to be easily transferred and sold.

The discovery of the tunnel has raised questions about the extent of the oil theft and how long this illegal activity has been taking place. IOC officials have stated that it is currently unclear how much crude oil has been stolen so far. The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to determine the full extent of the theft.

The petrol pump in question, which belongs to HPCL, had been closed for many years before being allocated to Rajendra Jain from Barmer. Jain then rented it out to Akash Jain and Sohanlal Vishnoi. The police suspect that the accused individuals rented the pump with the intention of stealing and selling crude oil from the IOC pipeline. They believe that the stolen oil was being supplied in tankers.

The arrest of the petrol pump manager, Pradeep Mali, is a significant development in this case. However, the search for the petrol pump owner is still ongoing. The police are determined to bring all individuals involved in this illegal activity to justice.

The discovery of this tunnel highlights the need for increased security measures to protect critical infrastructure such as oil pipelines. Authorities and companies must work together to identify vulnerabilities and implement effective security systems to prevent such incidents in the future.
