Indianapolis Man Charged with Rape of Minor on Northwest Side

INDIANAPOLIS — A horrifying incident unfolded on the northwest side of Indianapolis earlier this month when a minor was allegedly raped in a residence. Robert Lee, an Indianapolis man, has been arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses in connection with the incident, according to court documents filed on Tuesday in Marion County.

The charges against Lee include one count of rape, a Level 3 felony, and three counts of criminal confinement, a Level 6 felony.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a call on Sunday regarding a child molestation investigation at a home in the 8200 block of Maple Leaf Ct. The responding officer spoke with the 911 caller, who was later identified as the 16-year-old victim.

The victim emphasized that Lee, who was a father-figure to her, had never previously climbed into bed with her, indicating that his behavior was abnormal. Although Lee did not reside at the home, he was supposed to check in with the family on that day.

Surveillance footage showed that a family member arrived at the residence at 6:14 a.m. At 6:27 a.m., Lee was observed peeping through the front window just before the officers arrived. He quickly retreated from the window, and the officers entered the home at 6:32 a.m.
