A 26-year-old pupil teacher, named Bernard Tamayiri, has been recaptured by the Tuna police in the Sawla district of the Savannah region after managing to escape from police custody.

Tamayiri was initially apprehended for allegedly stealing from a mobile phone accessory shop in Tuna.

According to reports, Tamayiri absconded from police custody in January 2024.

He purportedly sought permission from the police officers to attend to nature’s call, but instead made a swift exit.
