A student at a private school in the Inland Empire has been arrested and is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly planning an active shooter attack. The 18-year-old, identified as Sebastian Villasenor from Eastvale, was discovered with a cache of weapons and ammunition. The threat to Ontario Christian High School was reported to authorities by another student, leading to the arrest.

Authorities revealed that Villasenor had been researching school shootings and had a particular obsession with the Columbine High School Shooting. He had been researching tactical gear and police response times to these types of incidents. While there was no manifesto or hit list, investigators were able to identify five or six potential victims based on Villasenor’s social interactions.

The student had no prior disciplinary record or criminal history, according to school officials and police. However, they noted that he had difficulties forming relationships with other students and struggled with social interactions.

Ontario Police Chief Michael Lorenz stated that the investigation revealed Villasenor’s intention to carry out the attack and that he was in the process of choosing a specific date. The firearms found in his possession were registered in his parents’ names, who cooperated with the investigation.

Thanks to the swift response of the Ontario Police Department and the bravery of the student who reported the threat, a tragedy was avoided. The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Villasenor with attempted criminal threats and attempted murder.

The school and authorities want to remind the community that active shooter threats should always be taken seriously and encourage individuals to report any concerns. The 18-year-old is scheduled for an arraignment on February 15. If anyone is experiencing a mental health crisis, they can reach out to the 24-hour Suicide and Crisis Hotline.
