Man Arrested in Connection to Fatal Shooting on Naylor Road

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced the arrest of a man in connection to a fatal shooting that took place on December 6. The incident occurred on the 2600 block of Naylor Road in Southeast Washington, D.C.
Upon receiving a report of a shooting, MPD officers swiftly responded to the scene where they found an adult male with a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Tyejuan Harkum.
After extensive investigation, MPD executed an arrest warrant issued by the DC Superior Court on February 13. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Robert Straughter, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the incident on Naylor Road.
