According to neighbors who spoke with KRON4, the family had been residing in their Alameda de las Pulgas home for several years. Devastated neighbors described the little boys as adorable, stating that they had never noticed anything unusual about the family.

Continued Police Investigation

The police have determined that two of the victims died from gunshot wounds, while the cause of death for the other two is still under investigation.

The SMPD released a statement on Facebook, stating, “Tragically, the two children were found deceased inside a bedroom. Their cause of death is still under investigation. The male and female were located deceased from gunshot wounds inside a bathroom. A 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine were also found in the bathroom.”

The statement added, “Based on the information we have at this time… we are confident the person responsible was located within the home. This investigation continues as detectives work to gather evidence, speak to witnesses and family members, and determine a possible motive.”

SMPD Police Findings: No Evidence of Gas Leakage

Initially, the family’s relatives suspected that the deaths were caused by carbon monoxide poisoning from either the air conditioner or the heater, as the family had previously complained of headaches and nausea. However, the police found no evidence of gas leakage or malfunctioning appliances in the house.

On Monday morning at approximately 9 am, a concerned party placed a 911 call regarding the family’s safety. The police found no signs of forced entry in the surrounding area they examined. When officers gained entry to the residence through an unlocked window, they were met with a horrific scene.
