An Indian-Origin IT Couple and Twins Found Dead in California Home

An Indian-origin family from Kerala has been tragically found dead in their home in California, with the police currently investigating the case as a murder-suicide.

The family has been identified as Anand Sujith Henry, 42, his wife Alice Priyanka, 40, and their four-year-old twin children Noah and Neithan.

The bodies were discovered after a relative of the family requested a welfare check as there was no response from anyone inside the house.

San Mateo Police Department representative Jerami Surratt stated that the police received a welfare check request on the family.

“San Mateo Police officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas on the report of a welfare check. After arriving, officers searched the perimeter of the home and found an unlocked window. Upon entering, they discovered the four individuals deceased,” said the police statement.

No suicide note was found at the scene.

The police are currently investigating the cause of death, with gunshot wounds being found on Anand and Alice’s bodies. A nine-millimetre pistol and a loaded magazine were also discovered in the bathroom where the bodies were found.

While the initial analysis suggests a potential murder-suicide, the police have not ruled out other possibilities and are continuing their investigation.

The San Mateo County Crime Lab and the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) are working together to gather evidence. The bodies have been taken into custody by the San Mateo County Coroner, who is in the process of positively identifying each individual and notifying their next of kin.

The Indian mission in the United States is providing consular assistance to the family’s relatives in India.

About the Couple

Anand and Alice, originally from Kerala’s Kollam, have been living in the United States for the past nine years. Both of them have successful careers in the IT field, with Anand working as a senior analyst and Alice previously holding managerial positions at Meta and Google.

According to colleagues and neighbors, the couple was well-liked and known for their kindness, hard work, and devotion to their children.

Anand and Alice are alumni of TKM Engineering College, with Alice having a degree in civil engineering and Anand in mechanical engineering. Anand also furthered his education at Carnegie Mellon University and Singapore Management University.

After leaving his position at Meta last year, Anand founded his own artificial intelligence company called Logits. Logits specializes in providing businesses with the ability to privately train and use Generative AI models for specific business requirements.

Anand previously worked at Google, Salesforce, and CMU. He is also the son of Henry George, the former principal of Kollam Fathima Mata National College.

Last year, there were several murder-suicides within the Indian community in the United States, with a report in The Times of India highlighting this concerning trend.
