Tragic Traffic Accident Claims Life of Man in Northwest D.C.

Washington, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit is currently conducting a thorough investigation into a devastating traffic accident that led to the untimely death of a young man in Northwest D.C.

Details of the Incident

In the early hours of Monday, tragedy struck as a southbound vehicle on 3rd Street in the 6100 block of Northwest, suddenly veered into the opposing lane. The vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked car, causing a significant impact. The force of the crash propelled the vehicle into yet another parked car before finally coming to a halt in the northbound lane, facing west.

Losing a Life

Heartbreakingly, the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The loss of this young man, identified as 27-year-old Francisco Efrain Sorto Mendez, has left the community in mourning.
