Four Individuals Steal $5,000 Worth of Goods from Lululemon Store in Concord, Leading to Police Chase

Four individuals made off with over $5,000 worth of merchandise from the Lululemon store located in Concord, Delaware County. Following the theft, they engaged in a high-speed chase across the county before being apprehended by state police near Philadelphia International Airport, thanks to a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver. The incident occurred on Monday, as reported in a press release by the Media station.

The Incident

At approximately 1:45 p.m., troopers from the Media station were dispatched to the Shoppes at Brinton Lake, where the Lululemon store is situated. Witnesses reported that three Black women and one Black male had entered the store, grabbed multiple articles of clothing from the racks, and swiftly fled without making any payment. This incident follows a series of similar thefts at the Concord location, including a break-in on Christmas Eve, during which $20,000 worth of clothing was stolen.

According to witnesses, the four suspects hurriedly entered a grey Subaru Legacy with Pennsylvania license plates and promptly sped away from the scene. Troopers spotted the Subaru traveling eastbound on Route 322 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the driver of the vehicle ignored the troopers’ instructions and accelerated, attempting to flee at a high rate of speed towards Chester via Route 322 and Interstate 95.

During the pursuit, which lasted several minutes, troopers observed numerous traffic violations committed by the suspects. These included reckless maneuvers such as cutting in and out of traffic and driving on the shoulder. At one point, the Subaru collided with a black Audi sedan, resulting in damage to the driver’s side rear tire. However, this did not deter the suspects, who continued their reckless journey.

The Apprehension

The pursuit eventually led the troopers near Philadelphia International Airport, where they executed a PIT maneuver on the Subaru, causing it to become disabled on the left shoulder of Interstate 95. The driver of the Subaru, Briell Hardgrove, aged 22, was taken into custody, as were the other three occupants of the vehicle. The remaining suspects were identified as Mikhail Bowers, aged 19; Bilgis Rawls, aged 18; and Tayana Little, aged 22. All four individuals are residents of Philadelphia.

False Identification and Additional Charges

State police discovered that all four suspects had provided false identification to law enforcement, initially claiming to be juveniles. However, their true identities were established through fingerprint analysis. Furthermore, it was later revealed that Mikhail Bowers was found in possession of another individual’s ID card, driver’s license, and credit cards.

Legal Proceedings

Following the incident, the vehicle involved was towed from the scene to facilitate the application of a search warrant. The four suspects were subsequently transported to the Delaware County prison after their arraignment.

Bilgis Rawls was charged with receiving stolen property, retail theft, and presenting false identification. She is currently being held on 10% of $25,000 bail.

Briell Hardgrove faces charges of receiving stolen property, retail theft, presenting false identification, recklessly endangering another person, and multiple traffic violations. She is being held on 10% of $100,000 bail.

Mikhail Bowers, in addition to theft and false identification charges, was also charged with marijuana offenses. He is also being held on 10% of $100,000 bail. Court records regarding Tayana Little are not yet available.

The swift action taken by the state police in apprehending the suspects highlights their commitment to maintaining public safety and protecting businesses from theft and vandalism. Such incidents serve as a reminder for retailers to remain vigilant and implement appropriate security measures to deter criminal activities.
