(WFLA) — A tragic incident occurred on Sunday on Interstate 95 in Florida, where a young woman lost her life while selflessly assisting victims of a crash. The woman has been identified as Yanaisa Pulido, a 23-year-old Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who had recently completed the Hialeah Fire Cadet program in 2019 and was working as an EMT while pursuing her education.

Pulido’s family members confirmed her identity through a heartfelt post on GoFundMe, where they described her as a hero with a strong passion for helping others. They revealed that Yanaisa Pulido had a dream of becoming a first responder to save lives. Her family expressed their admiration for her selflessness, stating that anyone who had the privilege of meeting her became a better person as a result.

According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, Hialeah Fire Rescue officials stated that Pulido had served as a fire cadet with the department from 2017 to 2020. They described her as a kind-hearted individual who was always ready to lend a helping hand. The fire department expressed their deep sorrow over the loss of Pulido, emphasizing that she will forever be remembered within their fire family.

The tragic incident occurred when Pulido was on her way home from work around 4 a.m. As fate would have it, she came across the crash scene on Interstate 95. Without hesitation, she stopped her car and rushed to aid the victims. However, while assisting, two other cars collided with one of the vehicles involved in the initial crash, tragically striking and killing Pulido on the spot.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a total of six vehicles were involved in the crash, including the one Pulido stopped to help. Three individuals, including a 7-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital, but their current conditions remain unknown.
