The shooting occurred on December 12 at a Whitehaven apartment complex located off Millbranch Road. Memphis Police officers responded to a call and found a male victim with gunshot wounds lying on a couch inside an apartment.

The victim, later identified as Courtney Hudson, was responsive despite sustaining injuries to his upper torso and limbs. He was immediately transported to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
