Hit-and-Run Tragedy Claims Life of Four-Year-Old in Jacksonville’s Arlington Area
In a devastating incident that unfolded on Merrill Road in Jacksonville’s Arlington Area, a heart-wrenching hit-and-run collision has resulted in the tragic loss of a four-year-old child’s life. The entire community is left in shock and mourning following this unimaginable tragedy.
According to reports from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), the fatal collision took place when a silver SUV, carrying both a driver and a child passenger, was traveling westbound on Merrill Road. Eyewitnesses present at the scene recounted a sudden lane change by a light-colored sedan, causing the SUV to veer off the road in a desperate attempt to avoid a collision. As a result, the SUV crashed into a wooden telephone pole, causing significant damage.
Despite the heroic efforts of emergency responders, the young passenger of the SUV, a four-year-old child, tragically lost their life at the scene. The driver and another child passenger were immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Adding to the tragedy, the driver of the light-colored sedan fled the scene, leaving behind a devastated family and community.
