Vadodara Police Swiftly Arrests Kidnapper and Rescues Missing Child

Vadodara, India – In a swift investigation, the Manjalpur police in Vadodara have arrested a man and rescued a missing child. The accused, identified as Rasiya Dodiyar, was tracked down and apprehended in Rajasthan, where he was found with the nine-year-old kidnapped child.

The incident occurred on February 7 during a religious festival in the Makarpura area, when the child went missing. After searching for her son, the mother filed a police complaint the next day, prompting the authorities to take immediate action. Multiple teams were formed and CCTV footage from the area was carefully examined.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 3, Leena Patil, stated, “We obtained initial clues from the CCTV footage, which showed the accused walking with the child in various areas of the city. The child appeared to be comfortable with the accused, indicating that they must be acquainted. We learned that the kidnapper boarded a bus for Panchmahal, so we informed the Godhra police.”

Patil continued, “Further investigation revealed that the kidnapper took a private vehicle and traveled with the child to Rajasthan. We then reached out to the Rajasthan police and successfully tracked him down in Banswara district.” The child was reunited with their mother on Sunday.

When questioned about his motives, the police revealed that Dodiyar had recently lost his one-year-old son to illness and his wife had left him. In his desperation, he decided to kidnap the boy and seek solace in his native town in Rajasthan.

This successful operation by the Vadodara police highlights their dedication and efficiency in swiftly resolving cases of missing children. The collaborative efforts with the Godhra and Rajasthan police further emphasize the effectiveness of inter-district cooperation in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community’s children.
