Lincoln Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle in North Lincoln Accident

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln Police Department has identified the victim of a tragic accident that occurred in north Lincoln on Friday evening. Steven Keith, a 64-year-old resident of Lincoln, was fatally struck by a vehicle, resulting in his untimely demise.

Unfortunate Incident on North 27th Street

According to the crash report, the incident took place at approximately 7:15 p.m. on North 27th Street, close to the intersection with Old Dairy Road. The driver involved in the accident was traveling north when he noticed Keith, who was on foot. In an attempt to warn Keith about the oncoming traffic, the driver flashed his lights.

After safely reaching the median, Keith tragically suffered a collision with the vehicle. Eyewitnesses confirmed that they saw the vehicle strike Keith, leaving him lying on the ground. The impact was audible to the driver, who promptly turned back to witness the devastating aftermath.

Efforts to Save Keith’s Life

First responders swiftly arrived at the scene and immediately administered life-saving measures to Keith. They managed to stabilize him before rushing him to a local hospital in Lincoln, desperately fighting to save his life. However, despite their valiant efforts, Keith succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital.

No Citations Issued for the Driver

The driver involved in the collision cooperated fully with the authorities. Following a thorough investigation, the Lincoln Police Department determined that the driver was not at fault for the accident. As a result, no citations were issued against the driver.
