Delhi Police Arrests 19-Year-Old Man for Strangling Wife and Burying Body

NEW DELHI – In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old man has been apprehended by the Delhi police for allegedly strangling his wife, Sapna, to death and burying her body in a forest near Ashok Vihar in December last year. The incident came to light after Sapna’s mother filed a missing report for both her daughter and son-in-law on January 25.

The accused, identified as Vicky, had a heated argument with Sapna over an unspecified issue, according to the police. Acting under the influence of alcohol, Vicky strangled his wife before burying her body in the forest with the assistance of his brother. He then fled from home.

The discovery of Sapna’s body occurred incidentally on February 8 when a dog got stuck in a pit at the same location where Vicky had buried her. The police received a PCR call regarding the trapped animal, and during the rescue operation, they uncovered Sapna’s buried body. Through a process of matching missing reports, the police identified the body as Sapna’s, leading to an investigation into her murder.

Vicky was arrested by the police with the aid of technical surveillance and human intelligence. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. Vicky revealed that Sapna was also addicted to alcohol and had previously given birth, but unfortunately, their child had died due to anaemia. The couple’s fights intensified after their child’s death, culminating in the fatal altercation on December 26.

At present, Vicky has been arrested and charged with murder. The police are actively searching for his brother, who assisted in burying the body. Additionally, there is suspicion that other family members may be involved in this heinous crime.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the tragic consequences that can arise from domestic disputes and the importance of seeking help and intervention in such situations.
