South Bend Man Arrested After Leading Police on Chase and Crashing into Parked Car and Porch

Trae Lottie, 28, Faces Multiple Charges Including DUI and Resisting Arrest

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – A South Bend man has been arrested after police say he led them on a chase on Friday night that ended with him crashing into a parked car and a porch.

The incident unfolded around 9 p.m. when an Indiana State Trooper attempted to pull over a gray 2007 Audi at the intersection of Portage Avenue and Woodlawn Boulevard.

identified as 28-year-old Trae Lottie, the driver of the Audi allegedly refused to comply and sped away, leading the trooper on a high-speed pursuit through various city streets.

The chase finally came to an end in the 2000 block of Beverly Place, where Lottie crashed into a parked car and a wooden porch of a residence.

Following the crash, Lottie was apprehended by law enforcement officers. During the investigation, it was discovered that he may have been driving under the influence of alcohol, but the results of a chemical test are still pending.

Further inquiries revealed that Lottie was also driving with a suspended license, adding another layer of legal complications to his case.

After receiving medical clearance at the hospital, Lottie was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. Joseph County Jail. He now faces multiple charges, including resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with prior convictions, endangering others while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license with prior convictions, and reckless driving.
