In 2021 alone, an estimated 7,485 people lost their lives in pedestrian accidents, marking the highest number of pedestrian deaths in a single year in four decades, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA). These statistics confirm the urgent need for improved road safety measures.

Bond emphasizes the importance of conducting an independent investigation led by a seasoned lawyer in cases like this to protect the rights of the victim’s family. She states, “Having the proper resources is extremely important in order to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence. Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that must be thoroughly examined. These procedures are necessary to ensure that those who have lost a loved one receive the justice and monetary compensation they deserve.”

Bond further adds, “In most instances, pedestrians have the right of way when crossing an intersection or street, regardless of whether they are in a marked crosswalk. It is always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian.”
