Two Men Arrested Following Standoff with Elyria Police

ELYRIA, Ohio – In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Elyria Police Department apprehended two individuals after a standoff. The authorities were summoned to Erie Street after receiving reports of shots fired at a residence. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with a minor leg injury and evident signs of gunshots at the property.

Refusing medical assistance, the injured man prompted a thorough investigation by the police. Their inquiries led them to a residence on 8th Street, where they encountered uncooperative individuals. After several hours, four individuals exited the house and were interviewed by detectives.

22-year-old Nathaniel Melendez and 22-year-old David Santos, both from Lorain, were subsequently taken into custody and charged with burglary and obstructing official business. Santos is also facing additional charges. The two suspects are currently in Lorain County Jail and are expected to appear in court soon.
