Woman Killed in Two-Car Rollover Crash on I-95 in Georgetown

A tragic incident occurred on Saturday morning on I-95 in Georgetown, resulting in the death of a woman. Massachusetts State Police reported that the victim, a 45-year-old resident of Georgetown, passed away after being transported to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. The crash also left a 52-year-old man from Peabody with life-threatening injuries, who was subsequently flown to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Fatal Accident and Minor Injuries

The collision, which led to this devastating outcome, took place near the Route 133 ramp at approximately 11:15 a.m. Authorities were alerted to the scene and discovered an SUV that had rolled onto its roof after colliding with a sedan. Shockingly, two individuals were ejected from the SUV during the crash. The Georgetown Fire Department, in their press release, confirmed that one of the ejected victims was flown to a local hospital, while the other was transported by ambulance but sadly succumbed to their injuries. The Peabody man and Georgetown woman have since been identified as the individuals involved in this tragic incident.

Fortunately, a 5-year-old girl who was a passenger in one of the vehicles sustained only minor injuries. She received medical attention at Portsmouth Regional Medical Center in New Hampshire.

Massachusetts State Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash on I-95 in Georgetown. As of Sunday afternoon, no charges had been filed, and additional details, including the victim’s identity, have not yet been released.
