Man Killed in Fatal Crash in Hanover County, Virginia

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. – The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 36-year-old man on Friday.

The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, February 9th, near the intersection of West Patrick Henry Road and Cripple Creek Lane. Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to a report of a head-on collision at the location.

Preliminary findings from the ongoing investigation indicate that a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan, travelling east on West Patrick Henry Road, unexpectedly veered into the opposing westbound lanes, leading to a dire collision with a 2015 GMC Savana work van.

Tragically, the driver of the Chrysler Pacifica, identified as Chad Cooke, a 36-year-old resident of Beaverdam, Virginia, was rushed to a nearby medical facility following the crash. Unfortunately, medical professionals were unable to save his life, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that two additional occupants of the Chrysler Pacifica, along with the driver of the GMC Savana work van, were also transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Thankfully, they are currently reported to be in stable condition.
