Sharples Resident Claims to Have Spotted UFO for the Second Time

Stephen Maloney, a resident of Sharples, recently reported seeing a UFO for the second time within three weeks. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 7, when Maloney initially mistook the unidentified object for a star. However, upon closer inspection, he realized that it was unlike anything he had ever seen before.

“It’s very exciting to think about the possibility of aliens and the existence of intelligent life,” said Maloney. “I was truly shocked to witness something so strange in the sky once again.”

However, Radio Astronomy Professor Michael Garrett, the inaugural Sir Bernard Lovell chair of Astrophysics at the University of Manchester, and the Director of the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, remains skeptical about extraterrestrial explanations. According to Professor Garrett, there has been no substantial evidence of people witnessing spacecraft from outside our planet.

Professor Garrett stated, “People often observe unusual phenomena in the sky, but I don’t believe these sightings have extraterrestrial origins. For instance, many individuals on Facebook get excited about seeing a line of stars crossing the sky, but these are often newly launched sky links.”

Professor Garrett is also a member of the Search for Extra-terrestrial Intelligence, an organization dedicated to detecting signs of advanced civilizations on other planets. The group primarily focuses on identifying technological signals, such as radio waves and waste heat, similar to those emitted by our planet.

Regarding the possibility of other life forms existing in the universe, Professor Garrett stated that no one can provide a definitive answer yet. However, as artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance, it serves as a valuable tool for analyzing data and improving telescopes.

Professor Garrett explained, “We analyze national and local data to identify anomalies that cannot be attributed to natural phenomena. Although detecting civilizations in our galaxy is challenging due to their potential distance and energy usage, AI enables us to assess various technological signals and energy consumption patterns.”

Interestingly, last month saw two other reported UFO sightings in Bolton. Warren Booth, a skeptic, claimed to have seen a strange object with flashing lights during the early morning hours. Similarly, Paul Longstaff from Farnworth witnessed bright lights in the sky, leaving both him and his mother astonished.

According to UFO identified, a UFO database website, as many as 10 UFO sightings were reported in Bolton last May. Furthermore, Greater Manchester has one of the highest numbers of UFO sightings in the country.
