MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Two individuals have been charged with murder in connection to the tragic killing of an employee at A Better Day Tax Solutions in Frayser. The incident occurred on Monday, and following the shooting, the assailants rummaged through the victim’s pockets, stealing his car keys.

Upon discovering the lifeless body, the victim’s girlfriend immediately contacted the Memphis police, who promptly arrived at the scene located at 2222 Frayser Boulevard. The victim, identified as Charlie Patterson, was found on the floor with a fatal gunshot wound to the back of his head.

According to Patterson’s girlfriend, he had not returned home the previous night, prompting her to visit his workplace in search of him. Tragically, she found her boyfriend deceased inside the premises. However, his distinctive red Mercedez Benz was nowhere to be found.

Authorities have reviewed the surveillance footage from the tax service, which captured the entire incident. The exact time of the shooting is not explicitly mentioned in the arrest affidavit.

The footage reveals Patterson engaging in a conversation with two unidentified individuals for approximately 15 minutes. Subsequently, one of the assailants draws a handgun and shoots Patterson in the back of his head while his back is turned.

As Patterson falls to the ground, the second suspect proceeds to search his pockets and confiscate his personal belongings, including the keys to his red Mercedez. Both offenders then flee the scene in Patterson’s stolen car.

On Thursday, the police located the stolen vehicle in an undisclosed location. Two men who were found in close proximity to the car were apprehended, leading to their subsequent identification. The shooter was identified as 19-year-old Isaiah Williams, while the suspect who rifled through Patterson’s belongings was identified as 20-year-old Marquel Anderson.

It was also discovered that both individuals had active warrants unrelated to this crime. Consequently, they face charges of first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery and especially aggravated robbery.

Both Williams and Anderson are currently being held without bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
