PITTSFIELD Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested: Christopher Oliveri Apprehended in Connection with Armed Robbery

In a significant development, the Pittsfield Police Department announced on Wednesday the arrest of a suspect linked to the armed robbery that took place at NBT Bank on Merrill Road last November. The masked individual, identified as 51-year-old Christopher Oliveri from Milford, Massachusetts, entered the bank around 5 p.m., brandishing a firearm and ordering the tellers to secure the premises and access the vault.

Following the suspect’s actions, which included binding the employees with zip ties and stealing approximately $143,960, he swiftly fled the scene. Fortunately, the tellers managed to free themselves and promptly notified the authorities. It is important to note that no physical injuries were sustained during the incident.

Thorough Investigation Leads to Arrest Warrant

Law enforcement officials conducted a comprehensive investigation that eventually led them to Christopher Oliveri as the prime suspect. It was determined that Oliveri had utilized a rented white Nissan Pathfinder to travel from Milford to Pittsfield, committing the robbery, and subsequently returning to his residence.

Based on the evidence gathered, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Oliveri, charging him with armed and masked robbery, along with two counts of firearm-armed kidnapping.
