Man Murdered by Brother over Land Dispute in Alluri Sitharama Raju District

A 55-year-old individual was tragically murdered by his elder brother in a heinous act stemming from a land dispute at Bennavaram panchayat, located within the Chintapalli police station limits in the Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The incident, which occurred on February 8, came to light on the evening of February 9 (Friday) following the official registration of a police case.

The victim has been identified as Pangi Devdas, a resident of Bennavaram. The Circle Inspector of Chintapalli police station, K. Ramesh, revealed that approximately 20 years ago, Devdas and his brother Ramdas had amicably divided their ancestral land equally for cultivation purposes. However, Devdas, through his sheer hard work and dedication, managed to lead a more prosperous life compared to his brother.

Unfortunately, Ramdas harbored deep-seated jealousy towards his sibling’s success and reportedly issued threats, demanding that Devdas relinquish his portion of the land. Matters escalated on February 8 when a heated altercation between the brothers took place, resulting in Ramdas stabbing Devdas in a fit of rage. Despite immediate transportation to the Lothugedda Primary Health Centre (PHC), Devdas was tragically declared brought dead upon arrival.

The Chintapalli police promptly registered a case to investigate the murder and bring the perpetrator to justice.
